The repair of broken concrete eaves over the years is generally a problem due to the low resistance of the concrete (lack of cement), because years ago the construction regulations required a lower amount of cement per cubic meter than today .

These repairs, although they seem simple to execute, can have a very short life if the appropriate materials necessary for the repair to have a long-lasting guarantee are not used.

Generally, most professionals pick part of the damage and repair it with a normal mortar and after 3 years it is necessary to repair it again, especially in areas that are very cold or close to the coast, as is the case with this repair, it is a way to reduce costs in the short term to keep the budget, in the long run it is much more expensive.

What we do is completely chip away the damage and all the old plaster on the front and clean all the rust, if any, from the iron rods and apply a product so that it does not continue to deteriorate further.

After this, all the concrete including the iron is applied with a bridging resin so that the mortar does not separate from the old eaves again.

In each case you have to study well what needs to be done so that the termination is perfect. To repair the damage we have applied a special fast-setting repair mortar, the one we use has extraordinary grip and extreme hardness, it grips so much that if you use a wooden master ruler it seems almost impossible to remove it the next day, when a normal mortar you give it a few touches with the trowel and it comes out by itself. It is an expensive product but in the long term it is highly economical due to its duration.

Finally, 3 coats of special facade paint are applied.

I have to say that there are many brands of these products on the market and I always choose the best brand that gives me extraordinary results. In price they are all similar, but they do not give the same guarantee nor are they equally comfortable to apply since the textures of the materials vary (they have different formulas), I have verified it.
